How Language is used in Politics - Donald Trump
His speech or answers usually avoid the main question. He deviates from the main topic.
He tries to distract the interviewers and just gives a blindly entertaining delivery.
He acts as though eh knows what he's talking about, when you take a look at his transcript, you realize that not a lot of it makes sense.
He continuously attacks and delegitimizes the media, in an effort to reduce their credibility and reliability. He often calls it out to be 'fake news'.
Whataboutism - the process of changing the topic; It is used to diminish the importance of what was said to him by highlighting other problems. This was an old soviet propaganda tool.
Trolling - doing something purposely just to annoy the other person. Does this a lot to annoy people who oppose him on Twitter.
While he might be saying so many things online and during his speeches, when he is actually confronted about these claims and asked to justify them, he shuts them down by saying 'You can take it how you want to interpret it'. He doesn't deny whatever he said, but he doesn't openly support whatever he said too.
